Ingredients

2 large chicken breasts, pounded to 1/2 inch thickness
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup marinara sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
1/4 cup olive oil
1 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
3. Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried oregano.
4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, shaking off the excess.
5. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
6. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
7. Cook the chicken breasts until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
8. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish.
9. Spoon marinara sauce over each piece and top with mozzarella cheese.
10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
11. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

To reheat, place in an oven-safe dish and heat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes until warmed through.
