Heritage Oven-Baked BBQ Ribs

Ingredients

4 lbs pork ribs
2 cups ketchup
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tsp cayenne pepper
Salt to taste
Black pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
2. In a bowl, mix together ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper to create the BBQ sauce.
3. Season ribs with salt and black pepper on both sides.
4. Place ribs on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
5. Brush a generous amount of BBQ sauce over both sides of the ribs.
6. Cover the ribs with another layer of foil, sealing the edges together to trap steam.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 2.5-3 hours or until ribs are tender.
8. Remove the top foil and brush more BBQ sauce.
9. Increase oven temperature to 400°F (200°C) and bake for an additional 15 minutes to caramelize the sauce.
10. Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Storage

Store leftover ribs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C), wrap ribs in foil, and heat for 20 minutes or until warm.
