Ingredients
3 ripe avocados
1 lime, juiced
1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
1 small garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 small tomato, diced (optional)
Instructions
1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
2. Add lime juice, cilantro, garlic, red onion, salt, and black pepper.
3. Mash the ingredients together with a fork until well combined but still chunky.
4. Stir in the diced tomato if using.
5. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Storage
Store in an airtight container with a piece of plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning. Refrigerate for up to 2 days.
Reheating
For best flavor, allow the guacamole to come to room temperature for about 10 minutes before serving. Do not reheat.
