Traditional Thanksgiving Sweet Potatoes

Ingredients
4 lbs sweet potatoes
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Mini marshmallows (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Peel and cut sweet potatoes into 1-inch cubes.
3. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and cook sweet potatoes for 15 minutes or until tender.
4. Drain sweet potatoes and transfer them to a large mixing bowl.
5. Add melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg. Mash until smooth and well combined.
6. Spoon the mixture into a greased baking dish.
7. If using, top with mini marshmallows for a sweet crust.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until heated through and marshmallows are golden brown.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes or until warmed through.
