Traditional Sweet Potato Pie

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs sweet potatoes
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 9-inch unbaked pie crust
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Boil the sweet potatoes in a large pot until they are tender, approximately 40 minutes. Drain and run under cold water to peel off the skins.
3. In a large bowl, mash the sweet potatoes with the butter.
4. Add the sugar, milk, eggs, nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
5. Pour the sweet potato mixture into the unbaked pie crust.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
7. Allow the pie to cool before serving.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheating
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and warm the pie for 10-15 minutes.
