Traditional Potato Bake

A cozy and hearty side dish featuring layers of thinly sliced potatoes, creamy cheese, and a hint of herbs. Perfect for gatherings and family dinners.

Ingredients

4 lbs Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried thyme
2 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.
3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes evenly in the dish.
4. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream with minced garlic, salt, pepper, and thyme until warm.
5. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, and cheeses.
7. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
9. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a 350°F oven for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
