Traditional Polenta
Traditional Polenta is a hearty and comforting Italian dish made from ground cornmeal, perfect as a side or base for various toppings.

Ingredients
4 cups water
1 cup coarse yellow cornmeal
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
1. In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the salt.
2. Gradually whisk in the cornmeal, reducing heat to low.
3. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens, about 30 minutes.
4. Off the heat, stir in butter and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
Storage
Store cooled polenta in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat polenta by slicing it into pieces and warming them in a skillet with a little butter or olive oil.
