Traditional Monster Cookies

Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup M&M's
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and creamy.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla extract and peanut butter until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, mix the baking soda with the oats, then gradually stir into the wet ingredients until blended.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips, M&M's, and nuts if using.
6. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Storage
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
Reheating
To reheat, place cookies in a microwave for 10-15 seconds or in a preheated oven at 300°F for 5 minutes.
