Traditional Homestyle Fried Rice

Ingredients

2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup mixed vegetables (peas, carrots)
2 eggs, beaten
4 cups cooked jasmine rice
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 green onions, sliced
Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
3. Add the mixed vegetables and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender.
4. Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and pour the beaten eggs into the empty space.
5. Scramble the eggs until fully cooked, then mix with the vegetables.
6. Add 1 tablespoon of oil and the cooked jasmine rice to the pan.
7. Pour in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, stirring well to coat the rice evenly.
8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and continue to stir-fry for 5 minutes.
9. Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a small amount of oil or water to prevent sticking, until heated through.
