Ingredients
1 pie crust
4 large eggs
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
8 oz Gruyère cheese, grated
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon butter, for greasing
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Roll out the pie crust and fit it into a 9-inch pie pan, crimping the edges as desired.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, salt, pepper, and nutmeg until well combined.
4. Sprinkle the grated Gruyère cheese evenly over the bottom of the prepared crust.
5. Pour the egg mixture over the cheese, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown.
7. Let the quiche cool slightly before slicing and serving.
