Traditional Chicken Salad

Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, diced
1 cup celery, diced
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
Lettuce leaves, for serving
Bread slices or crackers, optional

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine diced chicken, celery, and red onion.
2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
3. Pour the dressing over the chicken mixture and stir until well combined.
4. Gently fold in fresh dill.
5. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.
6. Serve on a bed of lettuce leaves or with bread slices or crackers if desired.

Storage

Store the chicken salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Chicken salad is best served cold, reheating is not recommended.
