Traditional Cheeseburger Casserole

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup mustard
1/4 cup pickles, diced
8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
4 cups egg noodles, cooked
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup whole milk

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
3. Add ground beef to the skillet, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
4. Stir in ketchup, mustard, pickles, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 5 minutes.
5. In a large bowl, combine cooked noodles, beef mixture, and half of the shredded cheese.
6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
7. In a small saucepan, melt butter and mix in breadcrumbs. Sprinkle over casserole.
8. Top with remaining cheddar cheese.
9. Bake in preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
10. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes or until heated through.
