Traditional Beef Stew

A heartwarming traditional beef stew that combines tender beef chunks with classic vegetables, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

2 lbs beef chuck, cubed
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups beef broth
3 large carrots, sliced
4 medium potatoes, cubed
2 stalks celery, sliced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried rosemary
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup peas
2 tbsp all-purpose flour

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add beef cubes and brown on all sides, then remove and set aside.
3. In the same pot, add onions and garlic, sauté until translucent.
4. Stir in tomato paste, thyme, and rosemary, cook for 1 minute.
5. Return beef to the pot, sprinkle with flour, and stir to coat.
6. Pour in beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
7. Add carrots, potatoes, and celery, cover and cook for 1.5 hours.
8. Stir in peas, season with salt and pepper, cook for an additional 30 minutes.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat gently on the stove over medium heat until warmed through.
