Timeless Rustic Bread

A simple yet fulfilling rustic bread recipe that requires minimal effort, offering a crusty exterior and soft interior perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 1/2 cups warm water

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt.
2. Add warm water and stir until a rough dough forms.
3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
4. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a Dutch oven in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
6. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven and place the dough inside.
7. Cover with a lid and bake for 30 minutes.
8. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the bread is golden brown.
9. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Storage

Store in a bread box or loosely wrapped in a cloth at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 10 minutes.
