Tangy Maple Sriracha Joes

A delightful twist on the classic Sloppy Joes recipe featuring a tangy maple and spicy Sriracha sauce, perfect for a sweet and spicy sandwich experience.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup maple syrup
2 tbsp Sriracha sauce
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
4 hamburger buns
2 tbsp butter

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion and bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes.
2. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
3. Stir in ketchup, maple syrup, Sriracha sauce, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
4. Allow the mixture to simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens.
5. Toast the hamburger buns and serve the beef mixture over the bottom halves, topping with the other bun halves.

Storage

Store leftover beef mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water to loosen the sauce, or microwave until heated through.
