Ingredients

8 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 pound pork sausage, cooked and crumbled
6 cups cubed day-old bread
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped green onions

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and spread half of the bread cubes evenly on the bottom.
3. Sprinkle half of the sausage, cheese, and green onions over the bread.
4. Repeat layering with the remaining bread, sausage, cheese, and green onions.
5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the casserole.
6. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
8. Remove the casserole from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
9. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
10. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Storage

Cover and refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes or until heated through.
