Spicy Citrus Guacamole

Ingredients

3 ripe avocados
1 lime, juiced
1 lemon, juiced
1 small red onion, finely chopped
2 jalapeños, seeded and minced
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
Salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 medium tomato, diced
Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions

1. Halve the avocados, remove pits, and scoop the flesh into a mixing bowl.
2. Add lime and lemon juice immediately to prevent browning and mash avocados to desired consistency.
3. Stir in chopped red onion, minced jalapeños, fresh cilantro, minced garlic, and ground cumin.
4. Season with salt and cayenne pepper, adjusting to taste.
5. Gently fold in diced tomato taking care not to mash them.
6. Serve immediately with tortilla chips.

Storage

Store leftover guacamole in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed onto the surface to prevent browning for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.

Reheating

Guacamole is best served fresh; however, if needed, allow it to return to room temperature before serving.
