Spiced Cranberry Apple Chutney

Ingredients

2 cups fresh cranberries
2 large apples, peeled and diced
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup diced onions

Instructions

1. Combine cranberries, apples, sugar, apple cider vinegar, water, and diced onions in a medium saucepan.
2. Stir in cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and salt until well mixed.
3. Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer, stirring occasionally.
4. Reduce heat to low and continue to cook for 25 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and the apples are soft, stirring frequently.
5. Remove from heat and let the chutney cool to room temperature before serving or storing.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Reheating

Serve cold or let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving.
