Spiced Apple Sausage Rolls

Ingredients
1 lb pork sausage
1 cup diced apples
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp clove
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry sheets, thawed
1 beaten egg for egg wash
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, salt, and black pepper.
3. Mix apple mixture with pork sausage until well combined.
4. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a floured surface and cut each sheet into halves.
5. Place a portion of the sausage mixture along one edge of each pastry strip.
6. Roll the pastry over the filling to enclose it, sealing the edges with a little water.
7. Cut each roll into desired sizes and place on the prepared baking sheet.
8. Brush the tops with beaten egg for a golden finish.
9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
10. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes or until heated through.
