Ingredients
8 oz breakfast sausage
6 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup diced bell peppers
1/2 cup diced onions
2 cups cubed day-old bread
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp butter
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned; drain excess fat.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
4. Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter.
5. Layer the cubed bread evenly in the baking dish.
6. Spread cooked sausage, bell peppers, and onions over the bread.
7. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and vegetables.
8. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the cheese is golden brown.
10. Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
