Savory Sage Butternut Squash Bake

A delightful twist on a classic, our Savory Sage Butternut Squash Bake features roasted squash and fragrant sage, creating a comforting and aromatic dish perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

2 lbs butternut squash, peeled and cubed
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup grated Gruyere cheese
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. In a large bowl, toss the butternut squash with olive oil, onions, garlic, sage, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
3. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet and roast for 25 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the squash is tender.
4. Transfer the roasted squash mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
5. Sprinkle Gruyere evenly over the top, followed by breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.
6. Bake in the oven for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
7. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat portions in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes or until heated through.
