Ingredients

4 bone-in pork chops
2 large apples, cored and sliced
1 large onion, sliced
1/2 cup apple cider
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

1. Season pork chops with salt, pepper, and half of the cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg.
2. In a skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and sear pork chops until golden brown on both sides.
3. Transfer pork chops to the slow cooker.
4. In the same skillet, add butter, sliced apples, and onions; sauté until softened.
5. Mix in the brown sugar, remaining spices, and apple cider; bring to a simmer.
6. Pour apple mixture over pork chops in the slow cooker.
7. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours or until pork is tender.
8. Serve with the apple-onion sauce drizzled over the chops.
