Quick Swiss Steak Delight

A delicious and effortless take on Swiss Steak with a rich tomato gravy and tender beef, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

1 lb beef round steak
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 oz) can diced tomatoes
1 cup beef broth
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried thyme

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
2. Season the beef with salt and pepper, and coat with flour.
3. In an oven-safe skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Brown the steak on both sides.
4. Remove steak and sauté onions, bell peppers, and garlic until softened.
5. Return steak to skillet and add tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
6. Cover and bake in preheated oven for 1.5 hours until beef is tender.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through or in the microwave on medium power.
