6 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a medium saucepan, combine sliced peaches and 1/2 cup of sugar. Cook over medium heat until the peaches release their juices, about 5 minutes.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and remaining sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk until well combined.
5. Stir in vanilla extract to the batter.
