Old-Fashioned Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
1/4 cup granulated sugar
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 tsp salt
4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup raisins (optional)
Butter for greasing
Instructions
1. Warm the milk to about 110°F and combine with yeast and 1 tbsp sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
2. In a large bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add butter, eggs, and the yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
3. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
4. Roll the dough out into a rectangle. Spread with a mix of cinnamon and brown sugar. Sprinkle raisins if using.
5. Roll up the dough, place in a greased loaf pan, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
6. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Cool before slicing.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
Reheating
To reheat, wrap slices in aluminum foil and warm in a 300°F oven for 10-15 minutes. Alternatively, toast slices until warm.
