Maple Walnut Fudge

Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup unsalted butter
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups walnuts, chopped

Instructions

1. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and line it with parchment paper.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, heavy cream, maple syrup, and butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring regularly until the mixture reaches 235°F on a candy thermometer.
3. Remove from heat and stir in salt and vanilla extract.
4. Let the mixture cool until it is lukewarm, then beat until it starts to thicken and lose its gloss.
5. Quickly stir in chopped walnuts.
6. Pour the fudge into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
7. Let it cool completely at room temperature before cutting it into squares.

Storage

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Reheating

Fudge can be enjoyed at room temperature and does not require reheating.
