Honey Mustard Pretzels

Delicious homemade pretzels with a unique honey mustard twist, perfect for snacking or as a party appetizer.

Ingredients

1 cup warm water (110°F)
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 tablespoon honey
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup baking soda (for boiling)
1 egg (beaten)
2 tablespoons honey mustard
1 tablespoon melted butter
Coarse sea salt (for sprinkling)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and honey. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
2. Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough until smooth, about 8-10 minutes.
3. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
4. Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5. Divide dough into 8 pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and shape into pretzels.
6. In a large pot, bring water and baking soda to a boil.
7. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds, then place on prepared baking sheet.
8. Brush pretzels with beaten egg, then with honey mustard, and sprinkle with sea salt.
9. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
10. Brush with melted butter before serving.

Storage

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5 minutes or until warm.
