Ingredients
6 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
1/4 cup milk
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, toss the apple slices with granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until evenly coated. Set aside.
3. Transfer the apple mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
4. In another bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
5. Stir in the melted butter, egg, and milk until a thick batter forms.
6. Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the apples, spreading gently to cover as much of the fruit as possible.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
Storage
Store any leftover cobbler in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
To reheat, place a serving in a microwave-safe dish and heat on medium power in 20-second intervals until warmed through. Alternatively, reheat in a preheated 300°F (150°C) oven for about 10-15 minutes.
