Homemade Pizza

Ingredients

2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 cup tomato sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1/2 cup sliced bell peppers
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

1. In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water with sugar. Let stand until frothy, about 10 minutes.
2. Combine flour and salt in a large bowl. Add yeast mixture and olive oil; mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
4. Place dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
5. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
6. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into two balls for two pizzas.
7. Roll out each dough ball on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
8. Transfer dough to a greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
9. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust.
10. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
11. Arrange pepperoni, bell peppers, and mushrooms over the cheese.
12. Sprinkle oregano, basil, and garlic powder on top.
13. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
14. Let cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Storage

Store leftover pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat pizza slices in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 5-7 minutes or until warmed through and the cheese is melted.
