Herbal Wonton Soup

A soothing and aromatic variation of traditional wonton soup featured with fragrant herbs and a twist of citrus, perfect for a refreshing meal experience.

Ingredients

1 lb ground chicken
1/4 cup finely chopped cilantro
1/4 cup finely chopped green onions
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp salt
40 wonton wrappers
8 cups chicken broth
1 cup sliced bok choy
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
1 tbsp lime juice
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tsp white pepper
1 cup bean sprouts
Lime wedges for garnish
Green onions for garnish

Instructions

1. In a bowl, mix ground chicken, cilantro, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger powder, and salt until well combined.
2. Place a teaspoon of filling onto each wonton wrapper. Moisten the edges with water, fold into a triangle, and press to seal.
3. In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a boil then add sliced bok choy, garlic, fish sauce, and white pepper.
4. Gently add wontons into the broth and cook for 5-6 minutes or until they float.
5. Stir in fresh basil, mint leaves, and lime juice.
6. Serve hot, garnished with bean sprouts, lime wedges, and green onions.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat on the stove over medium heat until warmed through, adding a bit more broth if needed.
