Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
1 tbsp fresh thyme, chopped
1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Instructions
1. Pour the heavy cream into a large mixing bowl.
2. Using a hand mixer, beat the cream on medium speed until it turns into whipped cream.
3. Continue to beat beyond the whipped cream stage until the butterfat separates from the buttermilk.
4. Drain the buttermilk and keep the butter in the bowl.
5. Rinse the butter under cold water to remove excess buttermilk.
6. Add salt, rosemary, thyme, basil, and garlic powder to the butter.
7. Knead the butter with a spatula or hands until the herbs and seasonings are well incorporated.
8. Shape the butter into a log or place it in a container.
Storage
Store the herbal butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Reheating
To reheat, let the butter sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes to soften.
