Herb-Infused Rustic Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients

2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, finely chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 cups crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup sundried tomatoes, chopped
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 tbsp fresh oregano, chopped
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup vegetable broth
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add onion and garlic; sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
3. Stir in crushed red pepper flakes, then add crushed tomatoes and sundried tomatoes.
4. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes.
5. Stir in fresh basil, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
6. Add vegetable broth and balsamic vinegar; simmer for another 10 minutes.
7. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
8. Serve over cooked spaghetti and top with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Reheating

Reheat gently in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
