Ingredients

8 oz whole-grain pasta
2 cups fresh basil leaves
1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. Cook the whole-grain pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
2. In a food processor, combine fresh basil leaves, hemp seeds, Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic.
3. Pulse until the mixture is finely chopped.
4. With the processor running, gradually add extra-virgin olive oil and lemon juice.
5. Process until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
6. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
7. Toss the cooked pasta with the hemp seed pesto until evenly coated.
8. Serve immediately, garnished with additional hemp seeds and Parmesan if desired.
