Hearty Oatmeal Delight

Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter softened
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups rolled oats
1 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture.
6. Stir in the rolled oats and raisins or chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed.
7. Drop rounded spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between them.
8. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are golden brown.
9. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
Reheating
These cookies are best served fresh and do not require reheating. However, if desired, warm them in the microwave for 10-15 seconds.
