Hearty Lentil Broth
A warm and nourishing lentil broth infused with robust vegetables and aromatic herbs, perfect for cozy dinners or lunch gatherings.

Ingredients
1 cup lentils
4 cups water
1 large onion, chopped
2 carrots, diced
2 celery stalks, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp turmeric
Instructions
1. Rinse the lentils thoroughly under cold water and set aside.
2. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onions, garlic, carrots, and celery. Sauté until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Add lentils, water, bay leaf, salt, pepper, thyme, cumin, and turmeric to the pot. Stir well.
4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover.
5. Simmer for 30-35 minutes until lentils are tender, stirring occasionally.
6. Remove bay leaf before serving.
Storage
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
Reheating
Reheat gently on the stovetop over low heat until warmed through, or microwave on medium power, stirring every 30 seconds until hot.
