Hearty Beef Patties with Rich Onion Gravy

Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 large egg
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 cups beef broth
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
Instructions
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
2. Shape the mixture into 4-6 oval patties.
3. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
4. In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and cook until they become translucent.
5. Sprinkle the flour over the onions and stir until coated.
6. Gradually add the beef broth, stirring constantly until the gravy thickens.
7. Return the beef patties to the skillet, spooning the gravy over them. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
8. Serve hot with mashed potatoes or your choice of side.
Storage
Allow to cool completely, then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating
Reheat in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water or broth to loosen the gravy, until heated through.
