Ingredients
1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup melted butter
3 large eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, and salt.
3. Add the melted butter and whisk until combined.
4. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
5. Stir in the buttermilk and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
6. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust and sprinkle the top with ground nutmeg.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly browned.
8. Allow the pie to cool completely before serving.
Storage
Store the pie covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
