Ingredients

2 oz bourbon
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
1 slice of lemon
6 oz hot water
1 cinnamon stick
1 star anise
1 dash of ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. In a heatproof mug, add the fresh ginger and maple syrup.
2. Pour in the bourbon and stir to combine.
3. Add the hot water and stir again to mix evenly.
4. Squeeze the lemon slice into the drink and drop it into the mug.
5. Garnish with a cinnamon stick and star anise.
6. Sprinkle a dash of ground nutmeg on top before serving.

Storage

Store leftover mixture without garnishes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Reheating
