Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Creamy and buttery, these garlic-infused mashed potatoes are a comforting side dish perfect for any occasion. The smooth texture and robust flavor make them an excellent complement to any main course.

Ingredients

3 lbs russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1/4 cup sour cream
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
Chopped chives for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. Boil potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 20 minutes.
2. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream, butter, and minced garlic over low heat until the butter is melted and the garlic is fragrant.
3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
4. Pour the cream mixture over the potatoes.
5. Add sour cream, salt, and pepper.
6. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or electric mixer until smooth.
7. Adjust seasoning as desired.
8. Garnish with chopped chives if using.

Storage

Store leftover mashed potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally, or in the microwave until heated through.
