Fluffy Honey Butter Dinner Rolls

Delightfully fluffy and slightly sweet, these honey butter rolls are the perfect companion to any meal. Their golden crust and soft interior are complemented by a slathering of savory honey butter, making them a must-have for dinner tables everywhere.

Ingredients

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3/4 cup whole milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup honey
1 large egg
1 1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened for brushing
1 tbsp honey for brushing

Instructions

1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit for 5 minutes.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. In another bowl, whisk together milk, melted butter, honey, and egg. Pour this into the flour mixture and knead until smooth.
3. Gradually add the yeast mixture and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough becomes soft and elastic.
4. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
6. Punch down the dough and divide into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a ball and place on a greased baking pan.
7. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
8. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Mix softened butter with 1 tbsp honey and brush over warm rolls immediately after taking them out of the oven.

Storage

Store rolls in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 1 month.

Reheating

To reheat, wrap rolls in aluminum foil and warm in a 350°F oven for 10 minutes, or microwave for 20-30 seconds.
