Decadent Lavender Hot Chocolate

Ingredients

2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup dark chocolate chips
1 tbsp culinary lavender buds
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, combine whole milk, heavy cream, and culinary lavender buds. Heat over medium-low heat until steaming, stirring occasionally.
2. Remove from heat and let the lavender steep for about 5 minutes. Strain the mixture to remove lavender buds and return the liquid to the saucepan.
3. Add granulated sugar, unsweetened cocoa powder, dark chocolate chips, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the saucepan. Whisk continuously over medium heat until everything is melted and smoothly combined.
4. Serve hot, optionally garnished with whipped cream and a sprinkle of lavender buds.

Storage

Store leftover hot chocolate in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat gently on the stove over low heat or in the microwave, stirring frequently, until hot.
