1 lb potato gnocchi

1/2 cup diced onion
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste
Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

1. Boil the gnocchi according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat; add diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until translucent.
3. Stir in crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer.
4. Reduce heat and add heavy cream, stirring to combine.
5. Add Parmesan cheese and fresh basil, mixing until cheese is melted and sauce is creamy.
6. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
7. Toss the cooked gnocchi in the sauce until well coated.
8. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan and basil.
