Classic Spinach Dip

Ingredients

1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream
1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
1 can (8 oz) water chestnuts, drained and chopped
1 package (1 oz) dry vegetable soup mix
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine mayonnaise and sour cream.
2. Stir in the thawed and drained spinach until well combined.
3. Add the chopped water chestnuts and mix thoroughly.
4. Sprinkle in the dry vegetable soup mix, garlic powder, and black pepper, stirring until all ingredients are evenly distributed.
5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow flavors to meld.
6. Serve chilled with fresh bread or vegetable sticks.

Storage

Store the spinach dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Reheating

Reheat gently in a microwave-safe dish on low power, stirring occasionally, until just warmed through if desired. Otherwise, it is traditionally served cold.
