Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 cup milk
1/4 cup unsalted butter
2 large eggs
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes.
2. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture and mix well. Gradually add the liquid to the dry ingredients, stirring until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
4. For the filling, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon, softened butter, maple syrup, and nutmeg.
5. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface. Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 equal pieces. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
7. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
8. While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth.
9. Once the rolls are baked, drizzle the maple glaze over the warm rolls and serve.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
Reheating
To reheat, place rolls in the oven at 300°F for 10 minutes or microwave each roll for 15-20 seconds.
