Zesty Orange Ginger Cranberry Sauce

Ingredients

12 oz fresh cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup fresh orange juice
1 tbsp orange zest
1 tsp grated ginger
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup water

Instructions

1. Rinse cranberries under cold water and pick out any damaged ones.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, orange juice, orange zest, grated ginger, cinnamon, salt, and water.
3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
4. Add the cranberries and return to a boil.
5. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
6. Remove from heat and let it cool to room temperature before serving or storing.

Storage

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Reheating

Reheat on the stovetop over low heat or in the microwave for 1-2 minutes until warmed through.
