Wholesome Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground turkey
1 large onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 bell pepper, diced
2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup chicken broth
1 lime, juiced
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, sliced jalapeños, chopped green onions
Instructions
1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, add ground turkey and cook until browned.
2. Transfer cooked turkey to slow cooker. Add onion, garlic, bell pepper, kidney beans, black beans, crushed tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
3. Stir in chicken broth and lime juice. Mix well to combine all ingredients evenly.
4. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally.
5. Once cooked, garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with optional toppings.
Storage
Allow chili to cool completely, then store in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
Reheating
Reheat chili on the stove over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until heated through. Alternatively, microwave individual servings until warm.
