Ingredients
1 box (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin
1 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water
1 package (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
3 large eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 package (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix
2 cups milk
1 container (8 oz) whipped topping
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Prepare the cake batter by mixing the yellow cake mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water in a large bowl until well combined.
3. Pour the batter into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
4. While the cake is baking, dissolve the strawberry-flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water, then stir in 1/2 cup of cold water.
5. Once the cake is done, let it cool slightly and then use a fork to poke holes all over the cake.
6. Pour the gelatin mixture evenly over the cake, ensuring it seeps into the holes.
7. In another bowl, prepare the vanilla pudding by mixing the pudding mix with 2 cups of milk until thickened.
8. Spread the pudding over the cooled cake, then top with whipped topping.
9. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to let the flavors meld together.
