Unique Maple Bacon Baked Beans

Ingredients

4 slices of bacon
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 15 oz cans of navy beans, drained and rinsed
1/2 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove bacon and set aside.
3. In the same skillet, add chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
4. Add minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
5. Stir in the navy beans, maple syrup, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and smoked paprika.
6. Crumble the cooked bacon and mix it into the bean mixture.
7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
8. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes until the beans are bubbly and have thickened slightly.
9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

Reheating

Reheat in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through, adding a splash of water if needed to loosen the sauce.
