Tuscan Herb and Cheese Bread

Ingredients

3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water (110°F)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs
Extra flour for dusting
Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
2. Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
3. Add yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture and stir until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
6. Punch down the dough and knead in mozzarella, Parmesan, and Italian herbs evenly.
7. Shape the dough into a loaf and place on a greased baking sheet.
8. Cover and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
10. Brush the loaf with olive oil and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.
11. Cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

Storage

Store leftover bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

Reheating

To reheat, wrap the bread in foil and warm in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes.
