Traditional Taco Salad

A refreshing and hearty traditional taco salad combining crisp lettuce, seasoned beef, and classic toppings for an authentic Mexican meal.

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef
1 packet taco seasoning
1 cup water
4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1 cup diced tomatoes
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup sliced black olives
1 cup sour cream
1 cup salsa
1 avocado, diced
1 cup tortilla chips, crushed
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
2. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
3. Stir in taco seasoning and water, reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
4. In a large bowl, combine chopped romaine lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced black olives, and diced avocado.
5. Add cooked beef to the salad mixture and toss until well mixed.
6. Top with crushed tortilla chips, and serve with sour cream and salsa on the side.

Storage

Store leftover taco salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Keep wet ingredients like salsa and sour cream separate to maintain freshness.

Reheating

Reheat taco meat in a skillet over medium heat until warmed through. Do not reheat fresh ingredients such as lettuce and avocado.
